Wah, who posted this blogpost, ah? It's quite a brilliant way to get us responding to the blog.

Actually, I joined Capoeira to lose weight.

Haha Capoeira can lose weight? Now that's a bonus.

I joined cos it looks fun and there is minimal body contact unlike the other forms of martial arts haha. (feels safer)

I joined capoeira because of....the GIRLS of course !! Did anyone expect so many girls to join? Ok ok the truth is I think Eddy Gordo from Tekken fighting game is cool (although I still think he is quite cheap when beginners button spam him). XD

PS. EW lose weight what ? Got photo of you before this?

I joined because I wanted to move across the room like how the guy in ocean's twelve did in the laser dance!

Pek: Haha, yes, that was Trident from the SEGA game Eternal Champions. But seriously, an Atlantean genetically engineered frogman from 400BC learning capoeira which started only in 1600AD? No, we need more concrete reasons to be doing it, like slimming our asses.

I joined because...

1) I wanted to try something new and different. I thought of joining some martial arts club so I'd do something more physical (I'm very unfit you see =X)

2) I think you learn a lot from capoeira.. Can do martial arts, sing songs, play musical instruments and speak Portuguese! LOL All in one package. :P

3) I was kinda persuaded to join. >.< But the $60/sem fee was really attractive compared to last time. So yeah.

Yup. :D

EW: Eternal Champions? After some youtube and wikipedia research i found out that the game is ........freaking gory! It made Mortal Kombat look so sissy in comparison.

mvken: You can turn off the blood animation, so it's PG13 friendly. I was 10 when I played it, and with my capo-flying Atlantean frogdude, I was kicking my brothers' butts all over the shop. And with style too!

4. i think i feel safer taking up a non-touch martial arts rather than muay thai!
5. i think it would be a miracle for me to be doing capoeira and so do my family and friends!
6. i want a cca that can help me exercise my lazy butt!
7. i want a cca that allows me to be me!
8. i want to see myself fly across that room with grace one day!
9. i want to look as stunning as the girls in capoeira vids!
10. i don't have a tenth reason but i just want to make the list look complete! XD

I first saw capoeira in e movie "only the strong". it din become my fave movie but somehow that-funny-dance-fight stuck w me and i saw it again in tekken3. Tats when i was hooked...
Capoeira to me:
-a fight where u r not suppose to hit ur opponent
-moves with strength yet grace; fast yet slow
-music n song u can sink urself into

I don't remember where I first saw Capoeira, but I found the scene of people playing in the Roda very smooth and beautiful. (Or in EW's words, very Sexy!)

The presentation of strength in such a graceful manner is indeed very attractive to me : )

I joined Capoeira because I wanted to rediscover how the real passion feels like. I also had a very good feeling that this is the best place to find a bunch of great people - all worm hearted and full of joy!
Thank you for not disappointing me!!!
